Leaving the Windows Insider Program used to feel like checking out of a hotel that wanted you to rebuild the hotel before returning the key. An in-place upgrade is designed to preserve data, but “designed to” is not a backup strategy. Copy irreplaceable documents, photos, recovery keys, and project files to trusted external or cloud storage. Confirm that the copy opens before changing channels.
